The government increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) once again on Wednesday night, marking the third consecutive hike in fuel rates.

According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of petrol has been raised by Rs. 6.39 per litre to Rs. 327.12 per litre, while high-speed diesel has become Rs. 7.83 per litre more expensive, taking its new price to Rs. 375.04 per litre.

The latest increase comes hours after petroleum dealers called off their planned nationwide strike following successful talks with the federal government.

Fuel station owners have assured the public that petrol and diesel supplies will remain uninterrupted across the country. The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association also backed the agreement during a joint press conference.

The latest revision follows Tuesday’s increase, when the government raised petrol prices by Rs. 4.93 per litre to Rs. 320.73 per litre and increased high-speed diesel prices by Rs. 7.15 per litre to Rs. 367.21 per litre.
