Auto financing in Pakistan reached a record Rs. 386 billion in July 2026, rising 35.2% year-on-year from Rs. 286 billion a year earlier, according to the latest State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data.
The outstanding auto financing surpassed the previous record set in June 2026. On a monthly basis, car loans increased another 1.2% in July.
Meanwhile, total private-sector borrowing climbed 15% YoY to Rs. 10.9 trillion, compared with Rs. 9.5 trillion in July 2025.
Loans for home construction also increased significantly, rising 37.2% YoY to Rs. 286 billion in July from Rs. 263 billion a year earlier.
Credit card borrowing recorded another sharp increase, climbing 30.5% YoY to Rs. 212 billion, compared with Rs. 163 billion in July 2025.
