A Pakistani vessel carrying 80 million litres of diesel from Kuwait has arrived at Karachi Port after crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
Sources at the Karachi Port Trust said the vessel, identified as Khairpur, passed through the strategic waterway three days ago before entering the Gulf of Oman and completing its journey to Karachi.
According to the sources, the vessel was granted special permission by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards to transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
The arrival comes at a time of heightened regional sensitivity surrounding shipping routes in the Gulf, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, a key passage for global oil and fuel supplies.
Port officials said the vessel has now safely reached Karachi with its diesel cargo from Kuwait.
