Pakistan’s diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have resumed passport services after a temporary suspension caused by technical issues at the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports headquarters in Islamabad.
According to official notices issued by Pakistan’s embassy in Riyadh and its mission in Abu Dhabi, passport operations were restored on May 5, 2026. Applicants can now visit the missions for passport issuance and renewal during designated working hours.
The resumption follows a recent disruption that affected passport services at Pakistan’s foreign missions after technical and maintenance issues hit the central processing system in Islamabad.
During the suspension, applicants were advised to either use online facilities where available or wait for further instructions until the system was restored.
Embassy officials said the resumption of operations would help clear the backlog of pending applications and provide relief to Pakistani nationals seeking passport-related services abroad.
Applicants have been advised to check official embassy channels for updated timings and procedures before visiting.
