Pakistan Post has cut the monthly fuel allowance for its mail delivery workforce by as much as 50 percent under a new policy approved by the Director General, while also ordering the settlement of all pending fuel reimbursement claims once funds are released.
Under the revised policy, every postman and mail delivery agent across the country will now receive a uniform monthly fuel allocation of 30 litres, replacing the previous category-based system that varied by role and location.
The earlier policy, introduced on November 17, 2023, provided 35 litres per month to postmen, 60 litres to delivery agents serving major cities, and 50 litres to those working in smaller cities.
The latest decision standardizes fuel allocations for all mail delivery personnel nationwide, ending the previous tiered system. Officials said outstanding fuel reimbursement claims will be cleared as soon as the required funds become available.
