Tax Exemptions Remain Above Rs. 2 Trillion Annually
Pakistan granted Rs. 1.48 trillion in tax exemptions in fiscal year 2020-21, followed by Rs. 2.24 trillion in 2021-22, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The total rose to Rs. 2.54 trillion in 2022-23 before declining to Rs. 2.43 trillion in 2023-24 and Rs. 2.35 trillion in 2024-25.
The figures show that annual tax exemptions exceeded Rs. 2 trillion for four consecutive fiscal years, from 2021-22 to 2024-25.
