The federal government has extended its ongoing austerity and fuel conservation measures until June 13, 2026, according to an official notification issued by the Cabinet Division.

The extension has been approved on the recommendation of the Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Fuel Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures and will take effect immediately.

Under the updated directives, several restrictions on government operations will remain in place. These include a 50 percent reduction in fuel allocation for official vehicles, the grounding of 60 percent of government transport, and a complete ban on official foreign visits and travel, except for already defined special exemptions.

The notification further states that all previously announced austerity measures will continue to remain active. Any measures without a specified expiry date will remain in force until further orders from the government.
