Meezan Bank has migrated 7.5 million active cards, all its merchants and its payment processing operations to BPC’s SmartVista platform.

The migration covers the bank’s card payments, point-of-sale transactions, e-commerce, QR payments, payment gateway services, fraud management and instant payments.

The platform can process more than 1,500 transactions per second during peak periods. Meezan Bank also handles around 2 million Raast transactions daily and has a network of more than 100,000 QR codes.

Faiz ur Rehman, Group Head of Information Technology at Meezan Bank, said the migration would support the bank’s card business, merchant services and digital payments.

Ali Imran Khan, Chief Information Officer at Meezan Bank, said the transition was completed while maintaining operational continuity.

BPC Managing Director for Pakistan, Nepal and Iraq Furrukh Ali-Baig said the platform supports high-volume payment processing, fraud protection and instant payments.

The migration brings the bank’s payment operations onto a single platform as it continues to serve cardholders and merchants across Pakistan.
