A massive forest fire continued to burn through the hills of Kotli Sattian and Murree for more than 24 hours, with officials warning that the blaze has now spread towards forest areas in Kahuta tehsil.

According to local authorities, flames and dense smoke could be seen from miles away as the fire moved across dry vegetation and forest land in the mountainous region. Strong winds and rising temperatures are believed to be accelerating the spread of the blaze.

Emergency teams and forest department officials have been attempting to contain the fire, though difficult terrain has complicated firefighting operations. No casualties have been reported so far, but concerns remain over potential environmental damage and risks to nearby settlements.

Murree, Kotli Sattian and surrounding hill areas frequently face forest fire incidents during the summer season due to prolonged dry weather, heatwaves and human activity.

Environmental experts have repeatedly warned that climate change and declining forest management resources are increasing the frequency and intensity of such wildfires in northern Pakistan.

Authorities are continuing monitoring and response efforts as the fire remains active across multiple forest zones.
