Flight operations at Islamabad International Airport are expected to face possible delays over the weekend due to operational reasons, according to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).
The advisory states that arrivals and departures may be affected during specific time windows between May 8 and May 10. Flights could experience delays from 10:45am to 12:15pm on May 8, and again between 8:00pm and 9:15pm on May 9 and May 10.
Airlines operating inbound flights have been instructed to carry sufficient holding fuel to manage potential delays during these periods.
This is not the first time such restrictions have been announced. Earlier in March, flight operations at Islamabad airport were temporarily suspended for two hours under a similar operational notice, with airlines also advised to plan for possible holding times.
Separately, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the restoration of its flight operations from Oman starting May 13. According to Pakistan’s embassy in Oman, weekly services will resume connecting Muscat with Islamabad, Lahore, and Multan.
Under the revised schedule, flights from Muscat to Lahore will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Muscat to Multan services will run on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while flights to Islamabad will operate every Friday.
PIA had earlier suspended several Gulf routes in April — excluding the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia — citing rising jet fuel costs. The airline had indicated that the suspension would remain in place until the end of April before announcing the latest restoration plan.
