An Indian self-styled godman has drawn attention online after being seen travelling inside an air-conditioned glass enclosure while followers gathered around him, with a donation box placed inside the vehicle.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj was filmed inside the unusual mobile setup at a temple in Haryana, India. The transparent enclosure allows people to approach him as he sits inside, with followers seen seeking blessings by touching and kissing his feet.

The presence of a donation box inside the vehicle has added to the unusual scenes circulating on social media.

Rampal, who heads the Satlok Ashram movement, spent more than 11 years in jail before returning to public activities earlier this year.

He was arrested on November 19, 2014, from Satlok Ashram in Barwala, Haryana, following a prolonged standoff between his followers and police. The operation came after he failed to appear in court. Authorities moved to the ashram after the Punjab and Haryana High Court issued orders for his appearance.

Rampal remained in Hisar Central Jail for more than 11 years. The Punjab and Haryana High Court granted him bail on April 8, 2026, and he was released from jail on April 10.

His 2014 arrest followed violent events at the ashram during the police operation, in which several people died. He later faced multiple criminal cases linked to the incident.

Now back in public, Rampal’s highly unusual appearance inside an air-conditioned glass vehicle has once again put him at the centre of online attention.
