The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved three new export finance schemes aimed at increasing exports, improving access to affordable financing, and strengthening support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, cleared an enhanced EXIM Bank-administered Export Finance Scheme (E-EFS), a new Long-Term Export Growth Financing Facility (LTEGFF), and a performance-based rebate programme for incremental exports.
According to the Finance Division, the approved package will offer exporters access to fixed-rate, low-cost financing while expanding financial assistance for both export- and import-related business activities. The measures are also designed to improve financing opportunities for SMEs.
The ECC directed the relevant authorities to assess the performance of the new schemes and present a review after six months to determine their impact and effectiveness.
