The price of gold in Pakistan has reached an unprecedented level, crossing the Rs. 275,000 mark per tola on Wednesday. According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 24-carat gold increased by Rs. 2,500, bringing it to Rs. 275,500 per tola. Meanwhile, the price for 10 grams rose by Rs. 2,144, reaching Rs. 236,197.
This surge follows a recent decline of Rs. 600 per tola on Monday, after which the price rebounded by Rs. 1,100 per tola on Tuesday, setting a new record at Rs. 273,000 per tola. The continuous rise in gold prices reflects broader trends in the international market.
Globally, spot gold remained steady at $2,658.08 per ounce as of 0557 GMT, after reaching an all-time high of $2,670.43 earlier. U.S. gold futures also saw an increase, rising 0.2 percent to $2,682.10.
The dramatic rise in gold prices, which have increased by more than Rs. 55,000 per tola since the beginning of the year, is largely attributed to increasing international prices.
