The price of gold in Pakistan saw another significant increase on Wednesday, edging closer to the Rs. 300,000 per tola mark. According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-carat gold rose by Rs. 2,000 per tola, reaching Rs. 285,400. Meanwhile, the price for 10 grams increased by Rs. 1,714, bringing it to Rs. 244,684.
This marks the seventh consecutive increase in gold prices in the local market, with each rise setting a new record high. In the international market, spot gold was trading at $2,754.25 per ounce as of 0748 GMT, after reaching an all-time high of $2,755.30 earlier in the session.
At the end of 2023, the price of gold in Pakistan was Rs. 220,000 per tola. Since then, it has surged by Rs. 65,400 per tola, representing an increase of nearly 30%.
