The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sought explanations from three officials after an inspection found Sector G-6/3 in Islamabad suffering from poor sanitation and neglected green areas.

The inspection on August 26 found garbage, fallen leaves, trimmed branches and other green waste lying at multiple spots across the sector. Officials also observed inadequate supervision of sanitation and maintenance operations.

The CDA has issued notices to Director Solid Waste Management Malik Atta, Deputy Director SWM Atta Bari and Inspector SWM Faisal.

According to the notices, senior officials had repeatedly instructed the concerned staff to maintain cleanliness, clear waste and properly look after green spaces. Despite these directions, the sanitation situation had not improved.

The CDA described the continued neglect as a failure to perform official duties and comply with instructions from the competent authority.

The three officers have been given three days to provide written explanations and state why departmental proceedings should not be initiated against them under the applicable rules.

The authority has warned that failure to respond within the deadline could result in disciplinary action without any further notice.
