Fuel prices in Pakistan have jumped by up to Rs. 98 per litre since July 11, sharply increasing costs for consumers, transporters, and businesses.

Petrol has become Rs. 80.51 per litre more expensive, rising from Rs. 310.71 on July 11 to Rs. 391.22 per litre.

High Speed Diesel (HSD) has seen an even larger increase of Rs. 98.15 per litre, climbing from Rs. 323.30 to Rs. 421.45 per litre during the same period.

The sharp rise is likely to increase transportation and logistics costs and may put additional pressure on public transport fares, food prices, and household budgets.

Pakistan previously revised petroleum prices every fortnight. The government later shifted to weekly reviews to allow domestic fuel prices to respond more quickly to changes in international oil prices and the rupee-dollar exchange rate.

In July 2026, the government also began transitioning from weekly to daily petroleum pricing. The new system allows changes in international oil prices and other relevant pricing factors to be reflected more frequently rather than waiting for a scheduled price revision.
