The Foreign Office (Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan) has rejected media reports claiming that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar shared any information regarding Iran’s nuclear programme during his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
In its weekly briefing on Thursday, the FO spokesperson described the reports as “baseless and speculative,” stating that no intelligence or sensitive information was exchanged during the May 29 meeting in Washington.
The spokesperson said the discussions focused on bilateral ties, regional developments, and efforts to promote peace and stability, particularly in the Middle East and Gulf region.
He added that the interaction remained strictly diplomatic in nature and categorically denied any claims of intelligence sharing with the US side.
The FO further said such reports were misleading and could undermine ongoing diplomatic engagement and dialogue efforts between countries.
