The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has acknowledged that taxpayers are facing intermittent issues while using the IRIS portal, with the tax return filing deadline approaching.

The tax authority said its technical teams are working to resolve the problem and will update taxpayers once the portal is functioning properly.

FBR also recognized that the filing deadline is close and that access to the IRIS system is important for taxpayers trying to submit their returns.

The board apologized for the inconvenience caused by the technical issues.

The acknowledgment comes as taxpayers rush to complete their income tax return filings ahead of the deadline.
