Pakistan’s cement industry posted its strongest annual performance in years during fiscal year 2025-26, with total cement dispatches increasing 7.21 percent to 50.52 million tons, supported by strong growth in domestic demand despite a slight decline in exports.

According to figures released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local cement sales rose 9.5 percent to 41.51 million tons in FY26, compared with 37.91 million tons in the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, cement exports slipped 2.19 percent to 9.01 million tons from 9.21 million tons a year earlier.

The industry also closed the fiscal year on a positive note. In June 2026, total cement dispatches climbed 18.38 percent year-on-year to 4.33 million tons, driven by a 26.78 percent increase in domestic sales to 3.54 million tons. However, exports during the month declined 8.73 percent to 789,840 tons.

Manufacturers in northern Pakistan dispatched 35.50 million tons of cement during FY26, marking a 7.53 percent annual increase. Domestic sales from the region grew 10.83 percent, while exports plunged 53.85 percent.

Manufacturers based in southern Pakistan recorded total dispatches of 15.02 million tons, up 6.48 percent from the previous fiscal year. Domestic sales increased 3.18 percent, while exports from the region rose 9.36 percent to 8.23 million tons.

APCMA said it expects cement demand to remain strong in the coming months, backed by improved construction activity and steady export demand. The association also expressed optimism that easing geopolitical tensions could reduce energy and fuel costs, providing further support to the industry.
