Customs officials have foiled an alleged smuggling attempt at Ziarat Cross in Balochistan, recovering silver and electronic devices with a combined value of around Rs. 89.4 million from a passenger bus.
According to a Customs Department spokesperson, the operation resulted in the seizure of 122 kilograms of silver worth Rs. 73.2 million.
Officials also confiscated 277 used smartphones and five tablets, valued at approximately Rs. 16.2 million.
The total value of the seized goods comes to about Rs. 89.4 million, equivalent to the price of roughly 19 base Honda City 2026 cars in Pakistan at Rs. 4.737 million each.
The goods were recovered after Customs officials intercepted the passenger bus at Ziarat Cross and prevented the alleged smuggling attempt.
Further action against those allegedly involved is being taken under the applicable customs laws.
