Pakistan’s automobile market continued to show strong annual growth in February, although sales declined compared with the previous month.
According to data released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), total car sales reached 17,121 units in February 2026, marking a 42% increase year-on-year but a 26% decline compared with January.
During the first eight months of FY2026, cumulative car sales stood at 128,498 units, reflecting a 43% increase from 89,770 units recorded during the same period last year.
The month-on-month drop was mainly to a high base effect, as vehicle sales usually surge in January due to new-year registrations, along with fewer working days in February. Meanwhile, the strong yearly growth was supported by new market entrants, declining interest rates, easing inflation, and improving economic sentiment.
