The Babusar Top road has been reopened for traffic after remaining shut for seven months due to heavy snowfall, officials confirmed on Monday.

According to the Mansehra district administration, all major snow and glacier blockages along the route have been cleared, restoring full traffic flow on the highway.

The reopening restores a key land connection between Gilgit-Baltistan and the rest of the country, significantly improving access to northern tourist destinations.

The route is typically closed from November due to extreme winter conditions and heavy snowfall, which make travel unsafe.

Authorities expect the reopening to boost tourism activity and local business, particularly during the Eid al-Adha holidays and the upcoming summer travel season.
