The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is on the verge of finalizing a landmark commercial agreement to sell the naming rights of the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to the Bank of Punjab.
This deal, valued at Rs. 1 billion, will see the bank pay Rs. 200 million annually over the next five years, as confirmed by PCB spokesperson Umar Kalson.
This strategic move is part of the PCB’s broader initiative to leverage commercial opportunities and enhance revenue streams for the development of cricket in Pakistan.
As part of the agreement, Gaddafi Stadium, a venue synonymous with major cricketing events in the country, will undergo a rebranding to reflect the Bank of Punjab’s identity.
The sale of naming rights aligns with a growing global trend in sports, where major venues partner with leading corporations to secure lucrative deals that benefit both parties.
For the Bank of Punjab, this agreement represents a strategic investment, aligning its brand with one of the most revered cricketing venues in the region.
The official signing of the agreement is anticipated to take place later this month, marking a new chapter in the storied history of the stadium.
