The Pakistan Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has requested the Ministry of Interior (MoI) to allow NADRA and immigration and passport office staff to operationalize their portals to facilitate Pakistanis seeking to avail of the amnesty announced by the Dubai government.
The Pakistani ambassador in the UAE has written a letter to the MoI, urging the opening of NADRA and Passport sections on August 17 in Pakistan to support the Dubai initiative.
The UAE government has announced a two-month grace period starting from September 1, 2024, allowing visa violators to have their fines waived. This amnesty provides an opportunity for the expatriate community to regularize their visa status in accordance with UAE laws.
As a result, a significant number of Pakistani community members are visiting the Embassy and Consulate General of Pakistan for consular services, including NADRA, Machine Readable Passport (MRP) processing, and document attestation. Timely processing of their documents will enable them to benefit from the UAE government’s amnesty scheme.
To accommodate the increased demand, the Embassy and Consulate General will remain open on upcoming Saturdays to provide NADRA, MRP, and other consular services.
The embassy has sought the support of NADRA and the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DG IMPASS) to allow their UAE staff to operationalize their portals on August 17, 2024.
