The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has regained possession of more than 1,000 kanals of land in Islamabad’s Sector E-12 after nearly 40 years, removing a major obstacle to development in the area.

According to the authority, the recovered land is worth billions of rupees. Development work in the sector has also picked up pace, with roads and other essential infrastructure being constructed.

The recovery was achieved through joint efforts by the CDA, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, Islamabad administration and police to settle the long-running land dispute.

The CDA said the recovery would help accelerate the development of Sector E-12 into a fully developed residential and urban area.

Development work is being carried out under the supervision of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, while wider development initiatives in the capital are being pursued under Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
