Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met Standard Chartered CEO Bill Winters in London on September 29 to discuss Pakistan’s economic reforms, investment prospects and potential financing opportunities.

The meeting covered recent developments in Pakistan’s economy and the government’s ongoing structural reform agenda. Aurangzeb also acknowledged Standard Chartered’s continued engagement with Pakistan through financing and capital market transactions.

The two sides explored potential areas for future cooperation, including international Sukuk, tokenization and other financing options.

Standard Chartered’s investor network across Europe, the Middle East and Asia was also discussed as a potential avenue for attracting more international investor interest and increasing Pakistan’s visibility in global markets.

The meeting also focused on possible capital market transactions related to the government’s privatization program, including opportunities for both buyers and sellers.

Advisor to the Prime Minister on Privatization Muhammad Ali and Advisor to the Finance Minister Omer Khan attended the meeting.
