The Capital Development Authority (CDA) collected Rs. 546.13 million in parking fees across Islamabad over the past three years, according to a written response submitted to the National Assembly.
Parking services are available at 14 locations in the capital and are managed by the Directorate of Municipal Administration of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI).
The listed sites include Daman-e-Koh, Shakarparian, Kohsar Market, Faisal Mosque, Lake View Park, New Blue Area, H-9 Bazaar, Japan Park, and the Diplomatic Shuttle Service.
Under the Islamabad Capital Territory Parking Regulations, 2023, motorists are charged Rs. 100 for cars and Rs. 50 for motorcycles. The regulations were approved by the CDA Board.
The parking revenue has been deposited into the public exchequer and is used to help meet expenses related to maintenance, cleanliness, security, traffic control, lighting, landscaping, and other facilities at the parking locations.
The MCI has outsourced the digital management of parking operations to M/s Windsor Solutions for three years after a competitive bidding process conducted under public procurement rules.
The new system is cashless and includes a live dashboard that tracks vehicle entries and exits and provides real-time monitoring of parking collections.
