Pakistan Customs has stopped an alleged attempt to smuggle nearly 580 grams of chars worth around Rs. 2 million from Karachi to Dubai.
Customs officials flagged a husband and wife during routine checks at the international departure area of Jinnah International Airport.
The couple was scheduled to fly to Dubai on FlyDubai flight FZ330.
A thorough search led officials to two wooden jewellery boxes containing hidden compartments. Each box had around 290 grams of chars concealed inside, with the total recovery reaching nearly 580 grams.
The narcotics were confiscated, and an FIR was registered against both suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997.
Authorities said further investigation is in progress.
