Saudi Arabia has informed European refiners that they will receive no crude oil shipments next month as the shutdown of the East-West pipeline disrupts supplies, Bloomberg reported.

European buyers typically receive Saudi crude through term contracts, which are intended to provide a steady monthly supply.

Before the pipeline shutdown, European countries imported around 577,000 barrels of Saudi crude per day.

The supply disruption comes as Europe faces a severe energy crisis, adding further pressure to the region’s already strained energy market.

The halt could tighten crude availability for European refiners and add to concerns over oil supplies across the region.
