The federal government has given Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) CFO Muhammad Arif the additional charge of President and CEO for six months or until the bank is privatised, whichever comes first.

According to a Finance Division notification, Arif will continue working as the bank’s CFO while taking charge of its overall affairs.

Arif is already a Senior Executive Vice President at ZTBL and has been part of its senior management. His appointment provides continuity at the top as the government moves ahead with plans to privatise the specialised agriculture bank.

ZTBL provides financing to farmers for agricultural needs such as inputs, machinery and livestock. Arif will oversee the bank’s operations during the transition and help maintain its financial and operational stability.

The appointment is temporary, with the acting charge ending after six months or earlier if the bank is privatised.
