Pakistan and Tajikistan are preparing a new cooperation agreement focused on creating more employment and skills opportunities for young people and expanding sports activities between the two countries.
The Federal Cabinet is being asked to approve an MoU between Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Youth Programme and Tajikistan’s Committee of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The proposed agreement will cover youth skills training, employment initiatives and greater involvement of young people in policymaking. It will also provide a platform for youth leaders and government officials from both countries to exchange ideas and experiences.
Under the proposed cooperation, Pakistan and Tajikistan could hold joint sports competitions and other activities to encourage fitness, teamwork and interaction among young people.
Officials expect the agreement to strengthen youth-to-youth connections and create opportunities for education, skills development, employment and sports participation.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry has cleared the draft from a political perspective, while the Law Division has approved its legal text. The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme has also completed the required formalities.
The MoU will move forward for signing after approval from the Federal Cabinet.
