Saudi Arabia’s Asyad Group is looking to increase its investments in Pakistan and is preparing to participate in the government’s upcoming airport privatization process.

The development came during a meeting between Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Asyad Group CEO Ghassan Ahmed Amodi, where the two sides discussed the company’s existing projects and potential areas for expansion.

Amodi said Asyad Group views Pakistan as a long-term investment market and plans to strengthen its presence in the country. He also said Pakistan holds an important position in the group’s investments outside Saudi Arabia.

The group is particularly interested in the airport privatization process and is working with Saudi and international partners that can provide the required technical expertise.

The meeting also reviewed the expansion plans of Wafi Energy Pakistan, including the addition of new retail outlets, storage capacity and digital services.

Wafi Energy Pakistan has invested in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of Pakistan and plans to further expand its network and operations.

Asyad Group is also assessing opportunities in other sectors, including financial services, and exploring partnerships between Saudi and Pakistani investors.

Aurangzeb welcomed the group’s plans and said the government is opening new opportunities for credible investors through its privatization program.

He said recent improvements in Pakistan’s economic indicators and sovereign credit profile, along with ongoing fiscal and structural reforms, are creating a better environment for private investment.

The minister also highlighted Pakistan’s strategic location and its potential to connect businesses with markets across the region.

The government, he added, will continue facilitating investors and encouraging private-sector investment to support economic growth.
