The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and all commercial banks will remain closed on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, due to the public holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

According to an SBP notification issued on August 24, all offices of the central bank will remain closed on August 26, which falls on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 A.H.

The holiday will also apply to commercial banks, development finance institutions (DFIs) and microfinance banks (MFBs).

As a result, these institutions will not be available for public dealing or routine banking transactions on Wednesday.

The SBP has informed the presidents and chief executive officers of banks, DFIs and MFBs about the closure.
