Pakistan’s bilateral trade with Saudi Arabia edged lower in FY2025-26 despite the recent Makkah agreement between the two countries, with Pakistani exports to the kingdom recording a sharper decline, according to government sources.
The total trade between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia stood at $4.75 billion during FY2025-26, compared with $4.76 billion in FY2024-25, reflecting a decline of 0.27%.
Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia dropped by around 5% to $687 million during the year, down from $724 million in the previous fiscal year.
In contrast, imports from Saudi Arabia increased by about 1%, reaching $4.06 billion in FY2025-26 compared with $4.04 billion a year earlier.
The figures indicate that Pakistan continued to face a substantial trade imbalance with Saudi Arabia, with imports exceeding exports by several billion dollars.
The decline in bilateral trade comes despite efforts to strengthen economic ties between the two countries, including the recently announced Makkah agreement and broader initiatives aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation.
