The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will continue relief operations in flood-affected parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir with the support of the federal government, NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik told Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a meeting in Islamabad.

The NDMA chief briefed the prime minister on the ongoing rescue and relief activities in flood-hit areas, as well as the measures being taken to rehabilitate affected communities.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz directed the NDMA and relevant authorities to deploy all available resources to ensure timely assistance and relief for people impacted by the floods.

He also instructed the authority to strengthen coordination with provincial governments and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs) to improve the effectiveness of relief and recovery efforts.

The prime minister praised the National Emergencies Operation Centre for using artificial intelligence and other modern technologies to enhance disaster monitoring, preparedness and emergency response.
