The Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) has called on the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to immediately restore the “Change in Particulars” facility — known as Form 181 — on the IRIS portal for sales tax registered persons, warning that its suspension is causing serious operational and legal difficulties for taxpayers and practitioners alike.
In a letter addressed to Member Inland Revenue (Operations) Zubair Bilal, the PTBA said taxpayers are currently unable to update essential business information through the IRIS system, a disruption that is hampering both tax compliance and routine business operations.
The association argued that the unavailability of the facility is placing an unnecessary burden on genuine taxpayers who need to make timely amendments to their registration particulars to stay in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
The PTBA has requested the FBR to restore the Form 181 facility at the earliest, stressing that doing so would facilitate taxpayers, ensure uninterrupted business operations, and reinforce voluntary tax compliance through the IRIS system.
