Cambridge International has withdrawn its earlier plan to use assessed marks for the leaked AS & A Level Mathematics Paper 52 (9709/52), confirming that students’ original exam responses will now be considered for grading.

The decision follows an investigation into the premature sharing of the paper in administrative Zones 3 and 4. Cambridge had initially announced that candidates’ answers would be disregarded and grades would be calculated using its “assessed marks” approach.

In its latest communication to schools, Cambridge said its review and analysis of exam data found that the leaked material did not achieve significant circulation in Pakistan and did not impact candidates’ performance.

Based on these findings, Cambridge confirmed that final grades will be awarded using students’ actual answers from the examination.

The change comes shortly before the release of A-Level results, with many students expressing frustration over weeks of uncertainty caused by the initial grading decision.

Cambridge had earlier confirmed that Paper 52 was shared prematurely, breaching strict examination security regulations.
