Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has responded to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s comments about the failure of the existing governance system, saying institutions must continue to evolve through reforms.

In a post on X, Asif said that systems are never static and should keep improving over time. He suggested that Naqvi should start by bringing major changes to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), where he currently holds authority.

“Systems are always evolving and they should continue to evolve,” Asif wrote, adding that cricket fans are not fully satisfied with the PCB’s performance and expect improvements.

Asif further remarked that Naqvi has the opportunity to transform the PCB without facing hurdles from the Prime Minister, Parliament, or what he described as an outdated political structure.

The statement came after Naqvi criticised the current system and called for changes to improve governance.
