The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has suspended the licenses of five telecom companies after they failed to submit annual audited accounts and clear Annual License Fees (ALF) for the financial year ended June 30, 2024.

The action was taken against Al Wujood Technologies (Pvt.) Limited, Fast Fiber Net (Pvt.) Limited, Geo Tech, Navitronix (Pvt.) Limited, and Z Com Networks (Pvt.) Limited through separate orders issued under Section 23 of the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act, 1996.

PTA said telecom license holders are required to submit audited accounts and pay annual license fees within 120 days of the close of each financial year. The companies failed to fulfill these obligations despite multiple reminders and notices from the regulator.

The authority issued show-cause notices on March 6, 2026, asking the companies to submit pending documents, pay outstanding fees along with applicable late charges, and explain why enforcement action should not be taken. However, PTA said the companies did not respond or appear in scheduled hearings.

As a result, PTA suspended their licenses for one month or until they meet regulatory requirements, whichever comes first.

The regulator also directed telecom operators, including Long Distance International (LDI), Local Loop (LL), Telecom Infrastructure Providers (TIP), and mobile operators, to suspend telecom facilities provided to the affected companies until further orders.

PTA warned that failure to comply within the given period could lead to permanent license termination without further notice.
