The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its strong run against the US dollar, closing higher for the 209th consecutive trading session on Thursday.
The rupee closed at 277.81 per US dollar, improving by one paisa during the day.
The local currency has maintained its upward trend against the dollar since December 25, 2025, marking a prolonged period of stability in the foreign exchange market.
Currency Market Update
The rupee remained unchanged against the UAE dirham (AED), while gaining around one paisa against the Saudi riyal (SAR).
However, the PKR weakened against major international currencies, declining by Rs. 1.49 against the euro (EUR) and Rs. 1.36 against the British pound (GBP).
The rupee also fell by 39 paisas against the Australian dollar (AUD) and 46 paisas against the Canadian dollar (CAD).
