The Pakistani rupee (PKR) extended its winning streak against the US dollar on Friday, appreciating for the 205th consecutive trading day in the interbank market.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the rupee closed at Rs. 277.8714 against the US dollar, gaining 3 paisas from Thursday’s closing rate of Rs. 277.9021.
The local currency has been strengthening against the dollar continuously since December 25, 2025.
Among other major currencies, the rupee appreciated by Rs. 1.07 against the British pound (GBP) and 95 paisas against the euro (EUR).
It also gained 40 paisas against the Australian dollar (AUD), 7 paisas against the Canadian dollar (CAD), 6 paisas against the Malaysian ringgit (MYR), and 3 paisas against the Chinese yuan (CNY).
Meanwhile, the rupee edged up by 1 paisa against both the UAE dirham (AED) and the Saudi riyal (SAR).
