Pakistan’s football exports recorded a steep decline in June 2026, with export earnings falling by nearly 39 percent compared with the same month last year, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Football exports stood at $13.24 million in June, down from more than $21.7 million in June 2025.
On a month-on-month basis, exports also dropped 38.54 percent from over $21.5 million recorded in May 2026.
The sharp decline came despite Pakistan’s long-standing reputation as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of hand-stitched footballs. Sialkot-based manufacturers continue to supply footballs to leading global brands and major international sporting events.
Despite the weak performance in June, football exports posted 11.72 percent growth during FY2025-26, with total export earnings reaching $256.7 million, reflecting stronger demand over the full fiscal year.
Industry experts attributed the monthly decline to factors such as shipment schedules, seasonal demand and changing international market conditions, while emphasizing the need for greater value addition, market diversification and stronger global branding to sustain export growth.
