The Capital Development Authority (CDA) launched a major operation against illegal encroachments in Islamabad’s Chontra Village, demolishing dozens of unauthorized structures built on government-owned land.

According to the authority, enforcement teams used heavy machinery to tear down 67 illegally constructed shops and 15 vacant houses during the operation.

The drive was carried out under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner, with officials from the district administration overseeing the proceedings and coordinating with CDA teams.

A strong police presence was deployed at the site to maintain public order and facilitate the operation without any significant incidents.

The CDA said the campaign to recover state land from illegal occupants will continue until all encroachments in the area are removed, adding that action against unauthorized construction will remain ongoing.
