Pakistan recorded its highest-ever remittances of $41.6 billion in FY2025-26, marking a 9 percent year-on-year increase and underscoring the continued strength of inflows from overseas Pakistanis.

In June 2026, the country received $3.475 billion in workers’ remittances, up 2 percent from the same month last year, though inflows fell 18 percent from May as transfers normalized after the Eid-related surge seen in the previous month.

Saudi Arabia remained Pakistan’s largest source of remittances in June, with expatriates sending $830 million. The United Arab Emirates followed with $792 million, the United Kingdom with $515 million, the European Union with $415 million, other Gulf Cooperation Council countries with $321 million, the United States with $297 million, and other countries with $305 million.

On an annual basis, Saudi Arabia also remained the top contributor, sending $9.783 billion during FY26. The UAE followed with $8.807 billion, while remittances from the UK stood at $6.326 billion. Inflows from the European Union reached $5.227 billion, followed by other GCC countries at $3.934 billion, other countries at $3.884 billion, and the US at $3.624 billion.

Among major corridors, remittances from the European Union posted the strongest annual growth at 15 percent, followed by the UAE at 12 percent, the UK at 7 percent, other GCC countries at 6 percent, and Saudi Arabia at 5 percent. In contrast, remittances from the US declined 3 percent during the fiscal year.

Despite the monthly decline in June, the figures reflect Pakistan’s strong remittance performance throughout FY26, offering support to the country’s external account, foreign exchange reserves and household incomes.

Topline Research said the monthly drop was due to a higher comparison base in May, when inflows had risen because of seasonal transfers ahead of the festive period.
