SG Power Limited has formally changed its principal line of business from power generation to the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector after completing the required corporate and regulatory approvals.

In a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company said the shift followed shareholder approval through a special resolution passed at its Extraordinary General Meeting held on May 13, 2026, as well as registration of the necessary filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.

Under its amended Memorandum of Association, SG Power will now be authorised to import, export, manufacture, distribute, market, sell, install and maintain medical equipment, medical devices, hospital supplies and other related healthcare products.

The company will also be permitted to manufacture and trade pharmaceutical, medicinal and allied products, subject to relevant regulatory approvals.

SG Power said it was also completing the regulatory process for a change in its name to better reflect its new business direction. It said the Pakistan Stock Exchange and shareholders would be informed once the name change and related approvals were finalised.

The company described the development as a key milestone in its strategic transformation, saying the change provides the regulatory basis to pursue opportunities in Pakistan’s healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
