The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday signed a tripartite agreement with the State Bank of Pakistan and 1LINK to introduce digital payments for judicial services, allowing litigants and lawyers to pay court fees electronically instead of using physical legal fee stamps.

The arrangement is part of the Supreme Court’s broader digitisation drive aimed at improving public access to judicial services and making court processes more efficient.

Once implemented, users will be able to pay court fees through approved digital channels, replacing the existing manual system.

Officials said the digital payment framework would help streamline financial transactions, reduce paperwork, cut processing times, and improve transparency and accountability within the judicial system.

The initiative follows a series of technology-led reforms introduced by the Supreme Court in recent years, including e-filing, virtual hearings, and digital case management systems, as the judiciary moves to modernise its operations and improve citizen-centric service delivery.
