The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved the release of 50,000 metric tons of wheat from PASSCO reserves to the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to support the province’s food supply needs.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, held at the Finance Division.
According to official details, the approval came after a proposal from the Ministry of National Food Security and Research. The wheat will be provided at a rate of Rs. 4,150 per 40 kilograms.
Authorities said the additional supply is intended to help stabilize wheat availability in the province and ensure smooth fulfillment of local demand requirements.
The ECC also reviewed and approved several other financial and administrative proposals submitted by different ministries during the meeting.
