The National Economic Council (NEC) is set to meet on Monday, June 8, 2026, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, according to an official notification issued by the Cabinet Division.
The meeting will review the Annual Plan for FY2025–26 and consider approval of the proposed Annual Plan for FY2026–27. It will also examine key socio-economic indicators across provinces.
Members are expected to deliberate on the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), including a review of FY2025–26 allocations and proposed investment priorities for FY2026–27, along with ratification of adjustments made during the current fiscal year.
The agenda also includes progress reports on the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) from April 2025 to March 2026, as well as schemes approved by CDWP and the Executive Committee of the NEC (ECNEC) during the same period.
Provincial governments will present their Annual Development Plans (ADPs), with Chief Secretaries invited to brief the council on implementation and planning status.
A monitoring and evaluation report on major development projects will also be presented during the session.
The Planning Minister, in his role as Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, will give the opening presentation. The time and venue of the meeting will be announced later.
