The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved Rs. 10.15 billion for the Pakistan Navy’s Hangor Project under the RAFDP-2030 defence development framework.

The approval was granted during a meeting held at the Finance Division under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.

According to an official statement, the allocation is part of broader defence capability enhancement and long-term modernization planning.

In addition to the defence approval, the ECC cleared multiple Technical Supplementary Grants (TSGs) and funding proposals across key sectors including infrastructure, energy, telecommunications, and public services.

Major allocations included Rs. 7.026 billion under the Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme (SAP) to support ongoing development projects and prevent delays and cost overruns.

The Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control received several approvals, including funds for security-related arrangements, compensation expenditures, expansion of the Islamabad Safe City project, operational needs of law enforcement agencies, and infrastructure support for border management systems.

Other approvals included Rs. 733 million for Pakistan Television Corporation to meet salary requirements for June 2026, and Rs. 183.5 million for telecom expansion in Gilgit-Baltistan to improve connectivity in remote areas.

The ECC also approved funding for infrastructure and development projects, including allocations for Karachi and Hyderabad urban packages, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa development initiatives, and modernization of Pakistan Mint.

Additional decisions included financial support for Pakistan State Oil, revised settlement frameworks under the oil refining policy, and operational continuity measures for key energy and logistics entities.

The Committee also approved administrative and policy measures related to budget formulation incentives and federal institutional support mechanisms.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers from key ministries along with senior officials from relevant departments and regulatory bodies.
