The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Sahiwal has recovered Rs 4 million following enforcement action taken against a well-known fast food outlet in the city.

According to an official press release issued on 30 May 2026, the action was initiated under Section 175C of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 after authorities detected a mismatch between declared sales and actual business activity.

Officials said a monitoring team was deployed at the restaurant premises to observe daily sales operations. During the inspection, significant differences were found between reported turnover and real-time sales figures, raising concerns over under-declaration of income.

Following the findings, enforcement measures were immediately implemented, resulting in the recovery of Rs 4 million. The amount has since been deposited into the national treasury.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Federal Board of Revenue Federal Board of Revenue, which has been strengthening compliance efforts through field monitoring and enforcement drives.

RTO Sahiwal leadership appreciated the performance of the enforcement team and reiterated that strict action against tax evasion will continue in order to improve compliance and protect public revenue.

Officials added that such measures are part of ongoing efforts to broaden the tax base and ensure accurate reporting of business income across sectors.
